WTHA Awards - the Student Scholarship Award

The WTHA Student Scholarship Award

This scholarship is for those interested in the study of the history and culture of West Texas and is in the amount of $750. The scholarship is open to both high school seniors with a proven interest in history and historical research and undergraduate college students with a proven interest in history and historical research who are also declared history majors.

  • Applicants must complete an official application by April 15th.
  • All applicants must have a minimum of a 3.0 (B) grade point average.
  • All applicants must provide a current transcript to the scholarship committee.
  • Applicants must forward two letters of recommendation to the scholarship committee. One of the letters should be from a teacher, counselor or employer. The second should be a personal recommendation from someone other than a family member.
  • All applicants will be notified upon completion of the evaluation process.
